SDAP contracts with the state to provide administrative services to the Sixth District Court of Appeal and to assist court-appointed counsel in felony, delinquency, dependency, and mental health appeals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Duties of a staff attorney include directly representing clients in appeals, assisting panel attorneys, and training appellate and trial attorneys. The staff attorney also evaluates the work of panel attorneys and reviews their claims for compensation in appointed cases. Minimum qualification includes active California Bar membership and experience in criminal or appellate practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please email your resume and cover letter to <a href=\"mailto:jonathan@sdap.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>jonathan@sdap.org<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0For attorneys not currently on the SDAP panel, please also send a writing sample that includes a brief filed by the opposition.
